Award of 2022 Paleontological Research Grants
At the September 18 meeting of the NC Fossil Club at the NCMNS, the Grant Committee awarded a Paleontological Research grant of $1000 to Haviv Avrahami, for his project titled “A new orodromine from the Mussentuchit Member of the Cedar Mountain Formation, Utah” Haviv is a 4th year Ph.D. candidate at N.C. State University.
On September 16th , NC Fossil Club Treasurer David Sanderson and Grants Committee Chair, Don Rideout traveled to Wilmington, NC to award a grant in the amount of $1000 to UNC Wilmington student, Helena Kwarteng who is pursuing her Masters in Geoscience. Her project, titled “Foraminifera biostratigraphy, paleoenvironment, paleoceanography and oxygen and carbon isotopic signatures of Late Cretaceous strata, Smith Elementary core, Craven County”.
