Former NCFC member Keith Sturgeon has donated two spectacular late Eocene crab fossils, Neozanthopsis carolinensis, to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in memory of Mike Milton, NCFC Membership Chairman, 1994-1998. Mike and Keith found the crabs about two weeks apart in a small private quarry in Duplin County in the early 1990's. Mike gave his specimen to Keith when Keith moved to California. Keith eventually returned to North Carolina. In addition to the crabs, Keith also donated a spectacularly huge specimen (6¾" × 6¼") of the late Pliocene sand dollar, Clypeaster subdepressus. - (Text and photos by Richard Chandler )
